RESEARCH PROJECT.Robotically fabricated recyclable shoe. All the information on the shoe is digitally embedded into it by design. This allows robots to ‘unmanufacture’ the multi-material shoe, disassembling and separating materials thanks to the embedded digital data.

European Green Deal

"openly declaring war" to fast fashion and greenwashing. The European Comission presented a series of new measures aimed at updating EU rules on cosnumer protection and the regulation of the circular economy. Consumers will have a right to know how long a product is designed to last for and how, if at all, it can be repaired. In addition, the rules will strengthen consumer protection against untrustworthy or false environmental claims, banning ‘greenwashing' and practices misleading consumers about the durability of a product.

Kavita Parmar created IOWEYOU in 2010. On the online platform, each IOWEYOU piece comes with a QR code that connects the user back to the artisan weaver and tailor who made the piece thus giving authorship and authentic provenance to the end consumer. That's when she created the hashtag #whomademyclothes
